Valley Of The Giants

A few days ago we went to a magical place called the Valley Of The Giants. There are walking tracks and a long bridge so you can walk in the tree tops. The trees were called red tingle trees and they were massive. They can grow up to 70m tall. There was lots of different wildlife to see. The bridge was really wobbly and we were really high up. You could even walk through the trunk of the trees. It was amazing. Afterwards we went to a chocolate lounge.

Here are six facts I learnt while I was at the Valley Of The Giants:
1.The trees are over 400 years old.
2.The roots were shallow so you have to stay on the footpaths.
3.Quokas and Quendas are nocturnal and make runnels in the swords grass.
4.People believe that the grandma tree looks over everyone that enters the forest.
5.Some insects eat the insides of the trees to make strange lumps in the tree.
6.They are called tingle trees because
tingle is an aboriginal term for red timber.

  6. That looks like such a wonderful place to be Marley. Isn't it amazing to think of a tree living for 400 years? Oh the stories it could tell! (probably just about ants and the weather really...). Would have liked to have heard a bit more about the chocolate lounge but an excellent summary anyhow ;)
    Love Aunty Jo
